Mike Hodge

Kenneth Michael “Mike” Hodge, 66 of Ridgeland SC, passed away on November 7, 2019, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer and kidney disease.  He was born on April 15, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Mr. Hamilton Hodge and Mrs. Ethelene Mancil Sadler.

Mike was a forest technician with Union Camp/International Paper for 32 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  He had a passion for coaching little league, and it showed through his many years of coaching.  Flying and woodworking were other passions of Mikes’.  He pursued his pilot's license and flew many hours with his friends.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, Daddy and Granddaddy. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Hodge, mother, Ethelene Sadler, Stepmom, Montine Hodge, four daughters; Michelle Hall (William), Kimberly Frick (Rodney), Ashley Rhodes (John), Tiffany Zareva (Jason), one son; Trey Hair (Ally), eleven grandchildren; Ali, Eli, Billy, Colby, Carter, Claire, Layton, Hayden, Hailey, Jack, Marshall, one sister; Melanie Barber (Ray), and a host of family and friends.  He was predeceased by one brother; Shelby Hodge, and his stepfather; Earl “Pop” Sadler.  Mike is also survived by his little princess puppy, “Sweetpea”.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC 29936.  A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3pm at Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
