Lula Floyd

Ms. Lula Way Malphrus Floyd, 95, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away on January 19, 2018 at her home.  She was born on November 1, 1922 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Mr. and Mrs. William J. and Ruth Williams Way. 

She was a seamstress for Holiday Ware in Ridgeland, SC for many years, and taught Sunday School for 22 years at Great Swamp Baptist Church.  Ms. Lula loved to talk but was also well known for helping others any way she could.  She loved to fish, crochet and loved her family very much.  Above all else she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.    

Surviving Ms. Floyd are two sons, Rev. Eddie Malphrus (Cynthia), and Freddie Malphrus (Myra); one daughter, Nancy Rivera (Oscar); two brothers, Lloyd Way, and Gary Way (Alice); two sisters, Hellen Harvey, and Jessie Mae Crapse; nine grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and twenty-two great-great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Floyd; one son, Jacob “Jake” Malphrus; three grandchildren, Glenn Malphrus, Tommy Smith, and Tina Malphrus; and six sisters and four brothers.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 6-8 pm at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00 am at Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland, SC with burial in Gillisonville Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
