Joyce (Rushing) Sutler

     Joyce Irene Rushing Sutler, 80, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at her home.  She was born on April 22, 1939 in Scotia, SC to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee and Hattie Kate McCoy Rushing. 

     Ms. Sutler was a homemaker.  She also worked as a bookkeeper for Napa Auto Parts and Pinckney Furniture & Appliance in Ridgeland.  She was a lifelong member of Great Swamp Baptist Church where she taught the Gleaners Sunday school class.  Joyce loved the Lord, music, and working in her yard; especially at Christmas, decorating with Christmas lights. 

     Left to cherish her memory are one son, “Chip” Sutler (Phyllis); two daughters, Debra Hale and Donna Smith (Donnie); one brother, “Pinky” Rushing (Julia); one sister, Shelby Green; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Ms. Sutler was predeceased by her husband, Charles Sutler, Jr.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland, SC.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the church.  Burial will follow the service in Ridgeland Cemetery, Ingram Street, Ridgeland, SC.
