Mike and Family, I can't express my heart break in the loss of my dear friend that was a true friend to me while I lived on the OBX. I send my prayers and hugs to you all from the very bottom of my heart. But, because I knew your mother so well, I know she is with us all and watching over us in peace.

Mike, we are so sorry for the loss. Dixie was an angel on earth. She worked at Regional for many years. Greeted many patients and customers with the brightest smile. Shared her homemade popcorn every week with everyone. She was a bright light to so many during their dark times. She was to me!!! She was like a grandmother to my son. When he was sick, I would bring him to work and she would make him a pallet and care for him while I worked. She didn't know a stranger and would give you the shirt off her back. She is so loved and will be missed by all, especially my family.
