Dana Lynn (Burress) Pierson

     Dana Lynn Burress Pierson, 61, of Varnville, SC passed away September 7, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. She was born on July 27, 1956 in Nashville, TN, to Mr. and Mrs. Robin and Jenell McComb Burress, and later became a resident of Varnville, SC for 28 years.

     Mrs. Pierson was the mother of four children and made sure her family was involved in church. Through the years, she held several offices of leadership in her church and worked as an office manager in several doctors’ offices. She had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, loved singing church songs, and enjoyed spending time managing and performing in Little Theater.

     Mrs. Pierson is survived by her mother, Jenell Burress; her husband, Jack Pierson; two sons, John Pierson, IV (Amanda) and Christopher Pierson; two daughters, Candace Ballard (Casey) and Lauren Howard (Doug); and six grandchildren, Brinley, Finn and Savannah Pierson and Caleb, Catelynn and Camden Ballard.

     Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Vaigneur Funeral Home Chapel, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

     Shelton Funeral Home of Trenton, TN will be assisting  the family with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Trenton, TN at a date to be announced.
