Dale Robert Merritt

     Mr. Dale Robert Merritt, 85, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA.  He was born on May 26, 1932 in Howell Township, MI, to the late Chancy Lorenzo and Irma Beatrice Hall Merritt.

     Mr. Merritt was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War, was a car enthusiast, and enjoyed building race cars.  He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

     Surviving Mr. Merritt are his wife, Harriett Merritt; four sons, Dale Merritt (Dawn), Daniel Merritt, Darwin Merritt (Jeannie), and David Merritt (Karen); three daughters, Denise M. Brabham, Diane Salveggio and Delisa Ray (Bucky); one sister, Irene Draper (Stuart); and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by one son, Douglas Allen Merritt.

     A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC.
