Billy Dean Smith

Billy Dean Smith, 63, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born April 2, 1954 in Hamilton, OH, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Letcher and Nancy Ann Bowling Smith. 

Mr. Smith worked as a maintenance engineer for Marriott, was a great story teller, a gun enthusiast, enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and eating chicken and dumplings.  He was a kind hearted and simple man who loved his family, especially his great grandson.

Mr. Smith is survived by his beloved life partner, Mary M. Mosiman, and her son, Chuck Mosiman; one daughter, Tammy Sue Smith; one sister, Laura Smith; five grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Vaigneur Funeral Home Chapel, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Engle - Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard, KY, will be assisting the family with services in Buckhorn, KY, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vaigneur Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
