Dean Wesley Goen

Dean Wesley Goen,64, of Ridgeland, SC passed away March 23, 2017 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC.  Mr. Goen was born August 30, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Donald and Iva Ratcliff Goen.

     He was a Captain Security Officer for Securitas, and an entrepreneur for many years.  Dean owned and operated Goen Auto Body, and Twitty’s II restaurant in Ridgeland, SC. During his life, he had many jobs and interests which included fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing his guitar, researching genealogy and history, collecting and reading books, and studying his Bible diligently. He was also a knife and gun enthusiast and a member of the NRA.  Mr. Goen had a great passion and talent for repairing cars and was well known for his work restoring Corvettes at Jamison’s Custom Corvettes in Charleston, SC.  He attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ridgeland, and when he was younger attended Nazarene Church in Charleston.

     Mr. Goen is survived by his wife, Kathy Twitty Goen; two sons, Jarrod Goen (Krystal Jordan) and Andrew Goen (April Nolen); three daughters, Donna Elliott (Kenneth), Rebecca Pressley, and Allison Goen; one brother, Donald “Buddy” Goen (Susan); one sister, Priscilla Smith (Kenneth); seven grandchildren, Adelaide, Joseph, William, Douglas, Grace, Ivon, and Mckenzie; and several nieces and nephews.

     A visitation will be held from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church,7488 West Main Street, Ridgeland, SC.  Burial will follow in Ridgeland Cemetery.
